Transitioning Back to Lessons after Breaks { & Hot Chocolate}
After long breaks, I usually have to get creative and make our learning environment enticing. This isn't solely for the girls' benefit, but for mine too. Breaks have an effect on the brain. There's a sense of easy that takes over so becoming more focused isn't always an easy transition.
Out & About :: Gaylord Opryland ICE!
During the holiday season, the girls and I experienced ICE! at Gaylord Opryland for the first time. Since this was our first encounter with the ice sculpture exhibit, I truly did not know what to expect.

When I read the description of the event online, my mind only focused on the Nutcracker part of the title. In my mind, I had us prepared to see a theatrical performance or something. ICE! Nutcracker was not that at all.
Out & About:: Made South Market
The girls and I enjoyed a different type of field trip last week. We had the opportunity to visit the Made South Holiday Market thanks to Vanessa at Daily Delivered and Made South for the free tickets.
Made South provides a venue for southern artists. We met artists from Tennessee, Florida, and South Carolina. This event has happened twice in Franklin. This was the events first time being held at The Factory in Franklin, TN.
What to Keep & What to Let Go: Home School Edition
At the beginning of our learning together journey, I knew that I would not be able to keep everything that was created by them nor would I be able to store every single Light Unit that they would complete in the years to come. I made a choice early on to figure out the things we would keep and those we would let go.
