My First Mom Getaway (Heading to the 2:1 Conference)
I have a confession. I have never spent more than a day away from my children not even when I attended Hearts at Home. No overnight trips. No extended girls weekend. Nope, none of that. I wondered if I this was a rarity since many of my friends don't mind getting away sans children. I was recently reminded that there are other moms who are just like me, moms who haven't found a reason or two to head out alone for more than a day. I have finally found my reason, and it's the 2:1 Conference which will be held in Ohio this year.
Learning with Audio Dramas from Heirloom Audio Productions
It's been nearly four years since we delved into using audio books regularly in homeschool, and now that we have become accustomed we are broadening our listening pleasures by including audio dramas too. An audio drama is different than an audio book because it is more like theatre. Audio dramas have actors for each of the characters along with sounds that bring the story to life. For instance, if a horse is mentioned then you will hear the sounds of its hooves against the dirt in the background.
Email Addresses for Kids: KidsEmail.org REVIEW
KidsEmail.org offers two types of email address formats, kidsemail.org and kmail.org. Both of the girls use the kmail.org domain because it is shorter and sounds more hip. I wasn’t aware of the domain options until I signed in to set up the account.
Summer Reflections 2016
Our summer started off just as I hoped. This year, I actually put a little more effort into being intentional with our time. Of course, lazy days were on the list, but the girls also did a little light schooling. I have found that keeping them somewhat engaged in learning helps when it is time for us to return to our full learning load. But even with June starting off just as I hoped, July had a plan all its own.
Building Healthy Relationships in YOUR Family
When I realized that love was indeed an action and not simply something to say, it changed our family. It changed us because once I learn something new, I share it.
