Q & A with Home School Mom: Shnia
Shnia, pronounced like Shania Twain, runs the Facebook Page, Mom of Fantastic 4, which is where I found her. She is a wife and mother of four children. She previously taught preschool, but left that field to begin teaching her daughter at home. This school year, she's homeschooling three of her four! Aside from taking care of her home, she is a youth pastor. Shnia also knows how to have fun. She enjoys singing, meals at TGI Fridays, and watching mob movies!
Homeschooling in Tennessee
Before moving to Tennessee I had not ever been concerned about whether I was home schooling the legally or not since our former state did not require anything from parents who chose to teach their children at home. Can I be honest? When we moved to Tennessee I became very anxious about home schooling. It wasn’t the teaching part or making sure that we were on track academically. It all stemmed from my fear of not following the law of Tennessee and when I read the posts by moms in Facebook groups and forums they only inflamed my anxieties.
Home School Reflections: Our First Break of the 2016-17

Home School Reflections: What to do with gloomy days?
Then the rain came, I have a hard time with gloomy days. My being becomes a bit gloomy like the weather, and I prefer to sit alone and read or ponder about different things. Luckily, the rain did not come until Friday, but I felt the onset of my mood changing on Thursday. Since it hit me harder on Friday, I am grateful that there was a plan in place to meet up with friends to begin our study of the book of Isaiah. It was a safe place to talk about the way I was feeling, and to come to realization that it is perfectly normal to have ups and downs. I know this, but of course it is always comforting when there is support.
