On My Bookshelf: Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook

I received this book at no cost from Blogging for Books to review. All thoughts are my own.
The Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook complements The Trim Healthy Mama Plan by Pearl Barrett and Serene Allison.

Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook is compiled of over 350 recipes. I chose to add this cookbook to my bookshelf because we were in need of a few new recipes to our meal rotations.  When you have a picky eater and few people with sensitive digestive systems, it can become difficult finding meal options that meet the needs of the entire family.

The cookbook includes a variety meal types suchas one-pot meals, main dishes, side dishes, breakfast selections, and even drinks. The cookbook doesn't solely focus on recipes, but also includes tips for eating healthy and suggestions for choosing quality ingredients.

One of our favorite recipes was Egg Roll in the Bowl.  It consists of a few ingredients and most of those ingredients we have on hand.  This recipe is considered a S which is one of the four types of meal types in the Trim Mama Plan.  The meal types include: S for Satisfying, E for Energizing, F for Fuel Pulls, and XO for Crossover.  I believe in order to fully understand the language of the cookbook, one would probably have to read the plan book.  They authors do provide some explanation for the language within the book, but I still found it difficult to understand how the plan works simply by using the cookbook.

If you are simply looking for some new recipes, the cookbook has a nice variety that can be adapted as needed for most families.  If you are interested in learning more about the Trim Healthy Mama lifestyle, you should consider purchasing the Trim Healthy Mama plan along with the cookbook.
