Upcycled Chick-Fil-A Salad Container & NEW Travel Journal for Kids

Hey, Friends!  I am so excited to share with you all our upcycled Chick-Fil-A salad container.  We were given this fun challenge from the Chick-Fil-A Moms Panel.

When we travel, we often are in the car.  I found it fitting to upcycle the container as an on the road bucket for my girl.  My youngest is much like me.  She has to take a variety of things to do with her, and although we do have a portable TV the girls have become accustomed to not watching much even on long trips.

As part of the Chick-fil-A Mom Panel, I received promotional products. I received the salad at no cost; I am not compensated in other form.

How did we upcycle container?  Well, my youngest gets most of the decorating credit.  I gathered our materials:  a clean Chick-Fil-A salad container, acrylic paint, a round paintbrush, washi tape, and stickers.

First, she painted the inside of the lid.  We opted to paint the inside because it reduced the chance of chipping.  After the paint dried, I went over it again to make sure it was evenly covered.

While the painted dried, my daughter covered the outside of the bottom (black) piece of container with washi tape to give it a little color.  She chose three tape patterns which she alternated.

After the paint was totally dry, we sprayed the inside with Mod Podge to help it last and not chip.

Now, the upcycled road bucket is ready to be filled.  In my daughter's bucket, you'll find some of her favorite thing: crayons, notebook, travel journal, and bendy sticks.

Now we are all set for road trips!
