Adventures at MonsterJam in Nashville

Doing new things with my family is on the top of my priority and goals list.  Monster Jam was one of those new things. Last month, we won tickets from the UnboxedMom to attend our first Monster Jam event.  At first I didn't know what to expect and neither did the girls.

Our first Monster Jam experience taught us a few things too.

  1. Make sure to bring ear plugs.  It is really loud in the stadium especially with the engines revving.  I found myself plugging my ears quite a bit because we forgot to buy ear plugs.
  2. There are kind people everywhere.  Although we forgot to buy ear plugs, the girls still ended up with some because a kind mom sitting behind us had a new pack with quite a few to spare.  She freely gave each of the girls a set so they wouldn't have to plug their ears with their fingers.
  3. The girls have a heart for people.  I know that they love others, but watching them at Monster Jam reminded me that they really do care about the well-being of other people.  Many of the trucks caught on fire and others flipped over.  The girls were genuinely concerned about the drivers when this happened.  They prayed for them as we waited for them to exit the trucks.
  4. There are Black monster truck drivers.  I know that Black people are everywhere, but on all the commercials I have never seen a Black driver before so it was cool to see a young, Black guy participating in the events.  He didn't win, but he was a favorite among the crowd.
  5. There are women monster truck drivers.  Again, I know women are everywhere, and twowomen were drivers in the Monster Jam event we attended.  They were on the Grave Digger and Zombie teams.  The young lady who drove Grave Digger was the favorite among the kids.  No matter which child the commentators asked about who was the favorite, they all primarily named Grave Digger.

They not only race monster trucks, but they also race speedsters.

We all had a good time at Monster Jam in Nashville.  It was a family event that we all enjoyed even with the loud noise and forgotten ear plugs.  The girls have mentioned that they would like to attend again.
