Life in Tennessee: One Family's Adventures

When my family and I moved to Tennessee we truly didn't know what to expect.  New places are often an adventure for us, but a new home in a new state has turned into one of the best adventures for our little family.

This post is a compilation of our family's life in Middle Tennessee.

Moving was a learning experience, and its documented in What We're Learning Moving Edition.

Living in Tennessee:  Our Two Year Anniversary:  This is a look back of our first two years in Tennessee.

As a homeschooling family, we had to figure out the rules for homeschooling in Tennessee.  I'm glad to say that it isn't as rigid as I had imagined.

Middle Tennessee has plenty to do and see.  Our adventures include:

Touring News Channel 5 on a breaking news day.

Attending Monster Jam  in Nashville for the first time ever.

Taking in the Castle Gywnn during the Tennessee Renaissance Festival in Arrington, Tennessee.  Did you know that there is a castle in Middle Tennessee?

During the holiday season, we've been able to check out ICE!  at Gaylord Opryland.  Our first time attending ICE! The Nutcracker was somewhat sad because of my lack of understanding, but the second time we attended ICE! Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was so much better.

We've learned about letter pressing on multiple visits to Hatch Show Print and have met local artisans and crafters at markets like Made South.

Since we are homeschoolers, we've also experienced some cool field trips such as:

Visiting the Tennessee State Capitol

Touring the Aquarium Restaurant

Meeting the Wally Show cast

Walking through the Stones River National Battlefield

Exploring the Parthenon

I can't wait to go on many more adventures with my family in Tennessee.  I'll be sure to update this page as we enjoy more experiences and outings.
