Q & A with Home School Mom: Pat

Pat has been my friend for nearly a year now.  I am so grateful to have her in my life because she often speaks words of wisdom into my life.  I am so excited that she is graciously sharing some encouraging words with you all.

Pat is a child of God, wife of Kevin, and mother to four daughters and one son. She grew up in Indiana, but has lived in four states and Germany. Her oldest was born in Germany, and she dreams to someday visit with her husband and children. She enjoys reading, herbalism, running(sometimes!), and eating chocolate.

Meet Homeschool Mom, Pat

How long have you home educated?

19 years

How did your family decide to become a homeschooling family?

I never considered homeschooling until we moved to Oklahoma. The first two women I met, who later became good friends, were black homeschoolers.

What is your favorite part about home schooling? What helps you to keep going?

My favorite part of homeschooling is seeing the look in my children's eyes when they finally 'get it". Spending time with the Lord keeps me going.

What are your struggles with being a home schooling parent?

Maintaining a good balance of home time and extracurricular activities.

Pat's encouragement for you:

Keep looking to the Lord and make your relationship with Him the top priority. Make the time you have with your children enjoyable: sing, play games, and eat cake for breakfast!

I hope you all are enjoying the weekly encouragement.  Thank you, Pat, for sharing!
